Sushil's family had arived the men promised to get there "on time", while the wives and kids were sent to Saket, a couple cousins from both sides of family were here as well.
Sudha's brother lived in Japan currently on exchange from Benaras Hindu Univ. He taught Pol Sc.
The house was teeming with people, Radhika's room was filled to the door, the balcony had chairs and tables, set upright, the living rom balcony the largest, had baskets of fruits and flowers, to take to the ceremony.
Sushil read his newspaper, or atleast pretended to, he wondered what was taking Rachit so long.... Rachit had gone off to talk with a Volvo dealer about renting the bus, instead of hiring 15 or 20 taxis a bus was decidedly beter.

Radhika was in the shower, she had gone off to Saket Mall last nite to "get stuff done" at the spa. She already had mehandi all over like a bride, the radio played inside the bathroom, FM, English songs.... Sushils nephews and nieces laughed and giggled outside.

Sushil's family was considered "modern", nobody else listened to English music or wore Western attire like Radhika, her Chachis frowned upon her, she wore shorts last nite.... apalling them all in one go....
They already gossiped about how she had "nailed" a rich man like the Kapoor.
Many wanted to know if there was an "accident" that Tripathis are trying to hush up.
Sudha was visibly uncomfortable....
This was unnecessary in her opinion, IF ONLY Radhika would listen...........
Radhika will not...........
She never really worried about what people thot about her....
Sushil was putting up a valiant defense, Ananya was doing the best she can....
Gopi had brought her aunt to help, break fast was being cooked in full enthusiasm
The guys that had strung lights last nite outside, were here asking for money.
Sudha noticed Sushil's brothers didnt bother to even reach for their wallets...........
She paid them....
Radhika yelled from the shower "Ma, mere friends hain kya?"
The cousins squealed "Nahi Di, Raghav JEEJU aa gaye"
"Eeeks" "Mera matlab, tum sabko main...."
Radhika started talking in the shower......... full throttle........

Things were happening in quiet precision.
There was a handful of "wedding planner" employees around the house. The girls were asleep, Dadi and Mridula talked on the phone, Padmini had taken the day off, she was helping review the guest list, Krishan and pawan were at work.........
Raghav was off playing golf... near Oberoi
Mridula: Yeh theek hai Radhika ke Ma ke liye? (picking a saree from dozen strewn on the bed in Dadi's room)
Dadaji: Mru beta, aapne mera chashma dekha, (Dadaji fumbled)
Mridula smiled "Nahi Dad, sorry" (worried, as she paged a help)
Dadi: Woh padhati hai usko to simple si saree do, she can wear it to work
Padmini: Is she planning to work after the wedding Bhabhi?
Mridula: I think so!
Padmini: Sach mein? Doesnt she work fora charity and such?
Mru: Nahi NGO, Water... Clean Water?
Padmini: Oh really? (shocked)
Padmini: Ateendra was saying they are working in UP, yeh UP mein rehti hai?
Mridula: She lives here... goes there frequently
Padmini: Is Raghav OK?
Dadi: Raghav to tum jaanti ho. He is not bothered by most things in life. He has such a laid back atitude, ladki ekdum ulta hai, sab kuch kheechti hai apne paas....... usko intezaar pasand nahi...... Raghav, jab tak woh cheez chalkar uske paas nahi pahunch jaaye woh apna araam (shrugs, making a gesture with her arms)
Raghav pauses after a putt...... text "Cant wait to see you!" he typed.....
