Radhika is ready, as ready as she can be... Sudha brings her breakfast, the kids are jumping all over her bed, she scrambles to move the strewn papers to a not so empty drawer, her things are in disarray everywhere
Sudha: You were going to clean your room, yaad hai?
Rad: Ma kal main kaam se itna late aayi. (winks)
Sudha: Kaam se nahi, friends ke saath ghoomkar. Spa jaakar, aur pata nahi kaha jaakar
Rade: Will you feed me?
Sudha flashes a look "I will ignore you asked"
Radhika: Main to chali jaaoongi 3 hafte mein, phir aap bore ho jaaogey!!
Sudha: Koi baat nahi! Ek aur class mein substitute kar loongi summer mein (smiles)
Radh: Maaa! Mujhe pata hai aap mujhse roz milne aaoogey, agar aap nahi aaye to main aaoongi. Raat ka khaana yahi khaayenge, Ritu aa jaaye lautkar phir uske liye ladki dekhne jaayenge (she starts off)
Sudha stares at her daughter, a small lump forms in her throat............
There is a knock on the door, another group of people arrive, her friends
Rad: Tum log uth gaye itni jaldi? Engagement to shaam ko hai! (grinning)
Sudha: Yeh bolna band nahi karegi tum log baitho.... Gopi, paani laana
Its getting to be like summer outside...
Radhika chews on her parantha rolling her eyes....
Payal: Wow! your mehandi looks stunning...
Rad:I know, I spent an hour at the spa!
Sudha: Baaki?
Rad: maaa!
Another friend grabs her phone, trying to read her texts....
Rad: Main kaam kar rahi hoon, I am not wasting my time texting that bum!
Her friends chorus "Mmmm...hmmmm" in disbelief
Sudha: Radhu you need to tidy the room (stern)
Radhika: I am the bride Mom! Koi nahi kholega mere cupboards ko..... agar ek bhi samaan mujhe neeche gira hua mila tum sabki chhutthi!! (yels at the kids from the couch)
Sudha: Saara saamaan already zameen mein hai betu!
Her friends chat with her Bhabhi and her Mom, while she takes a call from work.... and her expression changes a little
She goes to the balcony to chat.....ends the call...
Walks up to her Mom and hugs her
Radhika: Ma... ek ghante ke liye... main...
Sudha: RAGHAV SE? NAHI! BILKUL NAHI!
Radhika: Nahi ma.... I had to go to................ i mean less than an hour.... office?
Her mother's jaw drops....
