His phone throbbed incessantly
She observed him shift in his seat uncomfortably
K:You should answer the call… (offer)
S:Are you sure? Its Rahat actually (I want to)
K:Hmmm
He answered
S:Hey man!
Listened
S:No I did not get laid, she took a nap
K choked on her food, and stared at him furious…
S grinned “Seems to be!” smiling
K shook her head resigned…
S: So did you meet him?
Listened…
K ate silently trying not to pay attention to his
conversation
But…
R: Corporator and that Commissioner both are sc----g around
S: What did the Governor say?
K: I cant believe you guys! (hissing)
S: Rahat can I call you back?
He laughed out loud… “No! I mean afterwards”
They did more man talk… and her husband hung up
K: You are hoping to destroy my career and you want to get
laid (very soft)
The waiter appeared…
Shaan ordered another bottle of wine
S:You urged me to answer it!
K:I knew this was cooking
They ate silently
K: Are you helping Rahat?
S:With what? (acting clueless)
K: Nevermind!
Silence…
K:Shantanu… (helpless)
S:Khanak… you have to understand…
K:We should just talk about it
The silence unnerved both of them…
She was hungry, she served herself more food…
He ate sparingly
K:Why are you not eating?
S:Not really hungry..
She looked at him… she knew he was stressed, he would rather
be with Rahat now, she knew it..
It was hard for him to pretend to be having a good time when
his work life had just exploded in the morning
But she was selfish too, it was a great opportunity, she
wanted to enjoy the progression
K: Phir hum ghar chalet hain
S:What about that Ranbir movie
K:NOT funny!
He reached nad grabbed her left hand, felt her rings slowly
She pulled
S:Khanak…
K:I am sore from last nite… (squishing a pea to hide her
embarrassment)
He ate slowly from her plate with his left hand)
S: I promise to be gentle
K:Mmm…mm
They flirted in action….
S: Rahant has too much invested in this gig Khanak
K didn’t respond…
S:600 crores I think… can you imagine?
K:I don’t want to.. what I owe is enough for me to know…
(guilty flush)
S: How much is that (gently probing)
She tugged her hand…
K:I thought you knew…
S: You didn’t tell me…
She gently felt his fingers….
K:You don’t wear a wedding ring!
He smiled
S:Buy me one!
She looked up at him…
S:Are you meeting Shiv again?
K: You should just go to the Site… mera matlab meet Rahat
S: Thanks
They looked at each other quietly…. Not saying a word
K: I hope Rahat is is not planning anything ridiculous….
S: I hope…. Not (“not” inaudible)
wow.. they got an opportunity and Rahat spoiled it... too bad..

loved it Aditee.........iam finding the recent developments in their work lives very interesting but at the same time hoping that it doesn't complicate their relationship too much!! and yes Khanak should buy Shaan the wedding ring!!

Both seem edgy to speak about it incase they might have to face the thunder...I’m sure they will be more cautious this time ...Although the situation right now is chaotic, if Ajmera snatches the project from Esteem we see the professional Khanak roaring and if not it’s the opposite Shantanu being the tyrant! Its the catch and miss situation
