People began retiring for the night… ermm early morning…Shaan
took a call, leaving the rec room after giving her a long penetrating gaze that
said “ I will see you in bed”
Hers said “I wont”
Ambika: Sab theek hai beta?
Khanak startled…”Hmmm”
Amika: You both are strong people beta…..
Dadi yawned, visibly tired…
K:Dadi should go to bed…. Aur aap bhi…
Ambika:Aur tum?
Khanak:I have to…. Ummm..
Ambika: Why did she go to Ahmedabad?
Dadi:Mansa mein uske sasural se phone aaya tha… (grim)
Ambika:THIS is her sasural Mom
Khanak stared guiltily “Yes” Ambika said
Dadi:Shaan didn’t want her to go…
Ambika:The guy is GONE now (furious)
Dadi:Sunil said the same thing!
Ambika:What did YOU say Khanak?
K:I just went!
Ambika:OUCH! OUCH! No wonder he is so pissed…
Khanak’s rage simmered inside… she hated Shaan’s ambivalence,
his whole uncaring demeanor when it came to anything about Sooraj… he wouldn’t even
mention the man’s name…
Dadi:Jao so jao puttar (signaling Ambika)
K: Nahi Dadi…. Umm… I
Ambika: You cannot sleep by Dadi the rest of your life you
know
Khanak giggled “Kyon nahi?”
Dadi: Bhai mujhe apna poora bistar chahiye…
Ambika: Do you want him to acknowledge your past or LIKE it?
Khanak:Neither! Just let ME acknowledge it…
Ambika and Dadi were quiet….
Ambika: I need to teach you Punjabi so we can scold Shaan in
Punjabi
Khanak began to blurt “I KNOW Punjabi” “Mera matlab… who”
Dadi laughed loud…understanding what Shaan could have taught
his wife…
Ambika: Ekdum nalayak hai aapa pota Mom (stern, but kidding)
Ambika: Your past will frequent your present…. Through your
life…
Khanak:I know… I am not ashamed of it
Ambika:He wants to hide from it…
Dadi (defensive) He is obsessed with HER!
Ambika: So? (argumentative)
K: Dadi and Dad are supportive (hurt)
Ambika: Tu to tab tak Dadi ke saath so, jab tak who sorry na
maange
Dadi:Nahi nahi… he will come into the room and (shocked)
Khanak: Dadi!
Dadi: He has no shame…
Ambika smiled, amused… Dadi looked on… Khanak was pensive......
Khanak: He wont acknowledge his work phobia...
Ambika: Its like you guys move forward and your past or his present rewinds and halts all the progress
Khanak:He works 20 hours a day...
Dadi: Tell him to be home...
Khanak: Its of no use! (bitter)
Dadi and Ambika exchanged a look
Awwww shes letting it out with dadi and ambika i hope she tells them more so tgat they can tell shaan his problemxxxx

ReplyDeleteI love Ambika! She would have been a great MIL... She seems to agree with Khanak on Shaan's autocratic behaviour :P
I actually want a SORRY! Maybe in Casa style...he wont say it but she will understand it is his way of a 'sorry' :D
I loved this trio conversation! Dadi is right he is desirous and possessive when it is HER, but I also understand where Khanak is coming from! She has a past and she cannot change it, but her acknowledging it will make her a less guilty regarding Sooraj but the guy isnt willing to and I dont think he will let her either :))
Last 3 lines! She's already up to a conclusion like before! There is no harm if she rants/talks about his work obsession, it might not change but he might be considerate!
