He didnt call his agent just went online and got himself a ticket on the phone...
He had some clothes in his gym bag "beach clothes" he chuckled...
"And thats all that matters"
Dadi looked troubled, as if she was trying to swallow a lawn mower or a desk... he wanted to wait and watch to see when she will blow Khanak's cover... but on a second thought, he DID NOT care...
He stared out the window drumming his fingers on the steering, the Toureg was still shiny and new
"It still has the new car smell" she would smile gloriously, inhaling... he would lean over and say something risque in her ear..."And you smell......."
She would push him away as the drivers huddled in the garage, started looking on curiously.
She would carry multiple bags, for coworkers, friends, an errand at Shivneri Nagar, or something she offered Dadi she would drop off.. 
"Khanak I am not delivering any of these" he would sulk
"Phir theek hai aap mujhe kisi cab paas chhod dein main chali jaaoongi"
"We have PEOPLE to do such odd jobs, isnt Sanjay keeping you busy? If not then sign up for some fluff art apreciation class at the gallery, or take a course in being a "minimalist" he would mock with air quotes...
"Not funny, Shantanu"
"Do you see the traffic?' he would bark
"Traffic to tab bhi hoga jab main cab mein jaaoongi"
"Aaaaaaaaaaah" he would rant "I am late already for my 10 appointment... "I cant fight right now"
"Shantanu..." she would begin
"No I am not going to that engagement tonite" he would be blunt...
She would sulk all the way to Colaba... not turn back or wave when she got off "I am sending Pradeep" he would offer
She wont respond...
He would watch men gaze at her admiringly, he would grip the steering... and reverese the car furiously.. shaking his head...
He would text her now and then during the day send her a meme... she wont even look at it, they would fight after she returned from whichever event he didnt go to.... and make up... glorious... knocking his breath off... he would let her sleep at 3 or later... she would be late for work the next morning, appear mortified at Dadi's teasing at breakfast... and the cycle would continue...

His phone rang...
Gujral" he said short and pissed
"Jeeju main Sonuuuu" the girl at the other end fussed like a baby
"Hi! Sonali" he said, swerving to miss a woman crossing the road for a best bus...
"Dee kidhar hai?" she asked coyly
"Must be at work" he said though it was barely 8 AM
"Ghar par nahi hai?" as if that meant trouble in paradise
"I dont think so" he said cryptically
"Aap please kahoge, mujhe call karen?"
"Sure" he lied
"Aap kaise ho?" lingering
"On my way to work. How is college?"
"BO-RIIIING" "Mujhe job karna hai" she cooed like a overgrown baby
He smiled "Its not as easy as you think" he said
He wasnt paying much attention to the conversation, his mind switching between his errant wife and his work crisis
"I know u are so good, Di mujhe hamesha kehti hai"
He didnt fall for the bait... he couldnt care less
"Achha aap log weekend par ghar par ho? Main aa jaaoon?"
"Sure" he said not revealing his plans
"Yayyyyyyyyyyy" said the girl gushing
Rishi texted I am on the 3:!0 flight what abt u man?
"Midnite" he responded as Sonali hung up.. reluctantly
