Around midnite
Delhi
The car pulled into the bungalow’s drive way in Panchsheel
Enclave.
“I am here now” she texted him at 11:20
Her phone had rang the next moment as usual.
“Are you still on the plane?”
Jee” she said softly
“Is Krit coming to get you?”
“Aur Ritu bhi”
“Ofcourse”
They held on…. As the announcements came on the plane’s PA…. she sat in her seat and stared at other
people scramble to get out…
“Call me when you get to her house?”
“Abhi? Raat ko?”
Haan Khanak! Firm…
“Lekin” she stopped
“I can step away from dancing or pubbing or from the site
for a minute” sarcastic
“Thanks”
“Don’t push it” gruff
“ I am at dinner with Rahat”
“I didn’t need to know that” she sulked in her mind….
“Celebrating?” she asked aloud, caustically
“Fightin over the phone is no fun Mrs Gujral, throw those
punches in person”
The guy that sat by the window squirmed impatiently
“I have to go”
“Call me when you get a ride, or text me”
She didn’t respond
“Khanak”
“Jee”
They both smiled…
Ritu: Ghar aa chukka hai meri sleeping beauty
K: Itni jaldi?
R:I know, right? I mean late nite drives in Delhi are the
best
K:Hmmm
K: Are the bags in the trunk?
R: Shaayad, yaha to hai nahi, ya phir Ms aloof airport mein
bhool gayin
K punched her soundly
R dragged her out of the car and shoved her gently towards
the door leading to the stairs
Khanak slithered over the stairs in half consciousness
R: Tera miya to sota nahi, and you are half dead at midnite?
K: Ughhhh
R: Oh! I know why… I know what will wake you
K turned around and arched her eyebrows
R giggled
R: Yahan kisi hottie ko bulwakar I can supply s--- for you
K: Sounds steamy… (hugging herself)
R texted…. Rapidly
K:Are you serious? (startled)
R smiled and laughed at her phone
R:I told him you are ready for an orgy
K: KIS KO? Ritz you are insane!
R:He wants me to send you back..
K: WHO?
R:Gujral (preoccupied)
K tried to snatch the phone back from him they chased each
other… as R’s phone rang
R answered.. and mocked her friend…
K:Ya sure! I don’t have any feelings or anything! (hurt)
R hugged her tight… talking in serious Punjabi
R:Lo ji Miya naal gall karo ji
K: (in the balcony now) Shantanu?
S: I love that question mark at the end….NOT…(who did you
think it is)

Aditeee…can he come to Dilli to just pick her up? He seems too agreeable these days…baat kya hai!
He surely be sulking and wouldn’t have even texted her if she left off without his permission or being denied to go without him.
