Panchsheel
She dressed in a black and copper broomstick/ wrung out
cotton skirt…. And a black spaghetti clingy blouse…. Ritu had a “solution for
everything” she gave her a glove like bag to wear on her left hand while showering,
so she could keep her mehndi intact….
She smiled… allowing herself to be happy about Shaan’s
arrival…. “Prad bothers him” “I am HAPPY”
She thought to herself….
She had come a long way from the distant remote person… she
still did not express herself fully in front of him… but secretly rejoiced at
his every attempt to reach out and claim her……….
She let the hot spiky water jets rain on her face….
He was looking for his phone charger…
“Where is your charger?” he asked without looking up…
“With my phone” she said…
He turned around to look and whistled… softly
“Where are we off to?”
“Wherever” she said not looking at him….
He walked over and saw her hair drip all over her shoulder
and back…
“You are WET AND HALF NAKED” he bit out…
She shrugged carelessly as she walked past him trying to
find a hair clip to secure her hair…………
He pulled on her strap…. Sliding her skinny blouse down…….
“Why are you in such a tearing hurry for?” his tone was
higher……..
Ritu calling out”Mrs Gujral aap ready ho?”
“Haan” she responded looking at her husband… he let go of
the strap….
Ritu walked in “Wooooooooooooooooowwww” “Are you guys going
out or something”
“Something” Shaan agreed…
“Agar “something” hai to main I can let myself out” she
chuckled pretending to walk out…
“In his imagination Ritz” Khanak offered calmly
Following her friend…
She turned around and looked at him
His face was inscrutable…. She wondered what was going through….
“Casa probably!” she thought……
Her husband’s involvement in it his Dad’s seemed murkier….
Shaan tried his best not to divulge too many details to
Kritik… over dinner…
Kritik wasn’t prying… but Shaan seemed defensive… atleast to
Khanak…
A multi crore project of a competing builder was just stayed….
A friend… who was more like family found himself without a job…things were
happening… and happening fast……… her husband was the “Design VP” in the books….
But appeared to be over invested in the cause for some
strange reason….
“You shouldn’t worry about it beta” her Dad had said about
Ram…
“He is like an older brother to me” she had pleaded
“He is not fired… he will find something.. he should become
Rahat’s in-house Design head” her father offered… like it was his own company
She stared at him startled…
A phone call pulled him away…
Ritu:Hey Mystery…. Pass the salad please”
K:Hmmm”
Prad: Kanak whats bothering you?”
“YOU!” said her husband bluntly
Loved it..:) Khanak is ecstatic as Shaan is with her!!! :D Wooow!!! She dressed like that!!! Cool!!!
ReplyDeleteAwww..Ram is out of job..Khanak feeling bad for him..Obviously she has too..He is a very good boss and as she said like a brother to her!!!
