They shopped till they were ready to drop… trinkets,
clothes, shoes…. Ritu didn’t let her delve too much into what worried her,
instead expressed a lot about issues with her own marriage… Kritik’s
selfishness about caring for his own parents and not enjoy’s Ritu’s parents
with the same fervor, she talked about her MIL’s preference for Kritik’s sister
and how on many occasions she was made to feel unwelcome at her in-law’s
“We should have just been in Chembur”
“And had affairs by the nite” Ritu giggled
“I could have taken days off too” Khanak responded
“You JUST HAD TO meet him at my cousin’s engagaement didn’t you?
You ruined it all, if he hadn’t pursued you, you wouldn’t be married today, I
would have just slept around and we would be happy”
“Kritik’s a great guy” Khanak countered
“THAT he is, but Ma ke saamne bolti band” Ritu looked sad
“Bai says it gets better, when men grow older they leran to
stand up for their wives”
“WIVES?”
“I thought Aada only had one”
“Not funny! Ritz”
“I know what you mean Mystery, but the wait is too long, may
be a change of scene will do us good”
“Your parents live in the same town… tu kahan jaayegi?
Remember you DIDN’T want to relocate to Singapore?”
“Exactly, that was in the past”
“MERA kya hoga?” Khanak stood in the middle of the crowded
Sarojini Nagar chaos
“How generous are you” Ritu looked miffed
“Main apni cheez kisi ko nahi de sakti… I cant let it
disappear”
Ritu chuckled…
“Please don’t go Ritz”
“I will try…”
They talked and shopped and ate… and shopped some more
Pradyun and Kritik went to play tennis at DLTA, in
Safdarjung, even though Ritu’s parents lived a block from there, she knew he wouldn’t
even stop by to say hello
She wouldn’t mention the game to her parents…
“Prad should start living with some one don’t you think?”
“I thought that the week I got married”
“Bwahhhhahhhhh”
“Ritu meri baat sun…I like the guy… but not in that…”
“In what?”’ Ritu looked at her innocently “Please full
detail mein bol”
Khanak looked at her like she would incinerate her “YAHAN
market mein”
“Kyon nahi, nobody is listening, bol na”
“OK I don’t want to go to bed with him, he doesn’t turn me
on, I think sex with him would suck”
“Is baat ko sun ne liye Gujral kyon nahi hai yaha par”
Khanak laughed out loud
“USKO boli tumne kabhi yeh baat”
“OFCOURSE NOT! I want him to stew and burn, SLLLLOWLY. Just
like I AM over various things” Khanak’s face turned somber
Ritu: Chal kulfi khaate hain
K:Lets go home… NAU BAJ GAYE”
R:After kulfi pakka
Ritu’s phone beeped
“Dekho miya ka foon aa gaya, you know Saturday nite… ahem…”
“Sat morning ahem mil chukka hai usko”
They girls laughed…
Ritu checked her text “On my way home” it said
Awwww poor ritu she also has marital problems ...

aditee is there any possibility of ILU's between shanak on casa i know what they have is beyond any love and ILU's but in dono ke beech itna sab kuch hone ke baad didnt they feel like i love him/her
its the first shanak tale which is loved so much by so many ppl where there is nothing like ILU :)

ReplyDeleteTotally loving these two! Ritu never cribs about anything but she does have her own issues! I thought Krit was a pup as Ritu seemed the aggressive and attentive one!
Ritu should have recorded what Khanak said, it would have loomed Prad out of his misery :P AND in all honesty when there is Shantanu every person seems less attractive
