Part 121
Saturday, Noonish.
February 18th
The two friends sat in Ritu’s balcony soaking in the
gorgeous Delhi sunshine…. Ritu’s maid brought tray after tray of food and
snacks, Ritu’s lil puppy scampered in and out of the balcony…. Getting wrapped
in the billowing curtains each time she entered…
Kritik cleaned his car out downstairs, demanding they both
help him out
K: Aapki biwi ne mujhe yaha se uthne se mana kiya hai
(winks)
R: Nahi to! Ja uski help kar… I am tired…
K: I have no clue about cars
R:Hes CLEANING it, not fixing it…
K:Ermm… who bhi! (sheepish)
R: Why do you think there is more to the picture (somber)
K:I spoke with Dad… I ranted more like… he is usually very
sure and self confident… us din, Monday ko? Haan shaayad… he kept reassuring me
that I should not worry
R:Tere paas to abhi ek job hai na? Its not like M&D is
firing you…
K:That’s not what
this is about Ritu… its about how they practice business
R squirmed… “Sum Mystery, they are great people”
K: Rahat is clearly over reaching… its wrong… (soft, almost
a whisper)
R:Haan to let ESTEEM worry about it!
K is silent… eats her parantha…. And bites into the piping
hot gulab jamuns
R:Arent those the best? Malviya Nagar mkt is my fave Mystery…
K:Tu topic mat badal (pained)
R:Don’t get melodramatic here Khanak……. (frustrated) they haven’t
maimed or killed anybody…
Ritu knew how Khanak was raised, how ethical and principled
Mr Mistry was…. Red tape and corruption were words he read in the paper
everyday… not words he expected his daughter’s husband’s family to live by…
Khanak embodied the entire values she was raised by….stoic
and honest… adamant about her beliefs… Ritu realized this new turn of events
was indeed very disturbing…. Shaan was ruthless and ambitious…coldblooded and
callous when it came to success
K shrugs… rubbing her goosebumps…….
R:All business men do that
K:Casa is not DAD’S…
They both are silent…. Like a light bulb just went off
Their eyes meet over the steaming elaichi chais…
K:U think…
R:Ab is baat ko chhod (afraid)
A man wearing a soccer cap enters, tall fair…. With a goatee….
R:Dekh PRadyun aa gaya!
K:Haiiiiiiii (squeals)
Krit and him chat for a minute, Krit hands him two armful of
paper, junk, clothes…
He makes his way up
R:Aaao jee… aap aaye
P:Where is Kanak
R:Kanak nahi YAAR, KHANAK…. KHA… KHA
K: Chhod na usko
P: Hi!
K: How are you.
P:What are you doing in Delhi
K:I missed it so much I had to visit
P gazed longingly at her… grey track pants, the black spaghetti
strap tee….
K
Tucked her hair behind her ear
R: Oye hero… ab yaha hai na tu udaas kyon hai?
P: Is he with you?
K:Haan (smiles)
Ritu:Nahi!
Both girls speak at the same time
A look of worry is replaced by relief on Pradyun’s
oops.. Pradyun.. grow up...

prad needs to move out of this he creeps out with those looks uff! when will reality hit him he doesnt even seem the same age as khanak :D
hahahaha...i hope that relief doesnt stay for too long, hope shaan comes for a day atleast that be awesome :)

Uugghh! Pradyun!! At sometimes even I find him funny..but sometimes..forget it!
I want shaan to do something..I mean hug or kiss khanak in front of prad:p I know shaan wouldn't do that..but still I can have hopes right?!:p
Hope shaan comes to Delhi too..

Loved it..:) Khanak is right to get angry on Sunil..She was grown up with ethics and value..Business world is totally different..Its difficult to grow up with all those things I guess..Hard reality!!!

loved the Ritu Khanak conversation!! only Ritu can explain her the different aspects of a situation and i also liked Pradyun's entry........hope Shaan comes to know about him very soon............actually i love Shaan's reactions when his cousin is around Khanak!!
ReplyDeleteI know why Khanak is preturbed from work principles and all. Its just the difference of minds. But nothing can be done except the fact she has to live with it probably fight it with her husband every now and then :P

Maybe Khanak will be offered to design it…but then am sure she’ll won’t want to leave M&D!
I know I was the one saying he’ll be okay and ‘move on’ but those longing stares from Prad are disturbing…Poor guy needs to find someone really soon either he’ll be a brahmachari! No wonder Shaan hates the sight of him!

khanak is pure soul she can never ever think or do something like that and she hate that her in-laws and husband play dirty but what to do now its too late hehehehe but they love her :)
