Bai sat by her, fondly stroking her hair.. she must have asked her atleast a half a dozen times if she was happy. Khanak nodded every time…
She called Dadi to let her know she reached safe. Dadi was disappointed with her, she could tell from her tone… urged her to return by Monday. Talked about random events they had invitations to in Hill and at the Kunj. Khanak smiled…
“I might still not talk with you like I used to before, but I will go with you to Mrs Lohani’s daughter’s engagement”
Khanak smiled… sadly
“Your husband didn’t even go out tonite, he is moping in the rec room, Akshay and Khushboo have gone on a date…. Amogh is looking for u, he cant say Kaki, but he says “kee” and jumps up everytime the doorbel rings, he thinks you are at work beta”
“Maine unko kehne ki koshish ki Dadi” she said… her first sentence in 10 minutes
Dadi listened in rapt attention like her hubby
“You know his gussa!” she continued with a Punjabi proverb………
“Dad se baat karogi?”
“Hmm”
S: Hi! Kahan ho? Main 12 Taiwanese pens lekar aaya hoon tumhare liye, tum kahan ho?”
K smiled, biting her lower lip
S: You are returning Monday arent you?
K thinks “I am not returning until he…”
S:Shaan bahut udaas hai, kam se kam uske liye to aa jao
K giggled softly…
S:Aaj raat ko vegetarian khaane ko raazi ho gaye aapke pati…
K:Oh!? (her heart skipped a beat, somehow somethings work right…)
S: Tumhari favorite bani hai, dal makhani hai, bhindi fry aur sookhi paneer…
K:Saari veggie?
S:Jee! (mocked her)
K:Dad!
S:Who to main hoon tumhara… chahe tumne us Shaan se shaadi ki.
She bit her lower lip again…. To hide a smile
S: Tum usko miss kar rahi ho?
K:Ummm (so much that, every pore is hungry for his touch…. Every breath comes out achingly).. um
S:Haan ya Na…
They both are quiet
S: Kaise beta? Itni chup kaise reh paati ho tum? Who bhi uske saath? Who rukne ka naam nahi leta… itna restless aur busy rehta hai aur tum, itni calm? (baffled)
K stared at her favorite wall clock in her room… her Dad’s present to her for scoring the highest in 10th grade.
S: Meri demand abhi bhi poori nahi ki tumne
K:Hindi to sikha chuki (surprised, sitting up in bed)
S: Nahi beta… tumhari tarah ekdum sundar …….sehmi shaant badi aankhon waali ek pyaari si gudiya..
Khanak shut her eyes…….fantasizing how it would be to tell Shantanu she missed her cycle… and how she would break the news to her parents………..

    hey.. finally I'm the first one to comment!! the last line stole my breadth away.. is it confirmed that she is becoming a mother or is it one of ur twists?? LOL...

    Sonali getting all the attention.. she really needs to grow up.. pls..

    waiting to read how she'll break the news to her family and her brat... Hope Shaan will come too!!

    Hey Shal. NO she is not pregnant. Remember he thinks he is not cut up to be a Dad?

    On Sonali... no chance yet... I see a couple of married chicks at TWENTY FIVE who act like they are FOURTEEN.
    They claim not to know how to wear a saree, or how to cook or or do anything.
    Their hubbies baby them...
    Sonali is a tribute to them all :-P

      On married women who doesn't know how to cook..LOL:D totally agree!!! Many deceive!!!but ve to say few of my close friends who got married and moved to abroad too doesn't know to cook..but now they adapted very well and they are all posting pictures of different varieties of dishes they cooked in FB..So evolution and adaptation is the key!!!

      And also seen girls who are grown up but still talk and act like kids with innocent face while speaking to others ( though they very well knew that person too knows they are acting) and talk normally to selected peoples..that is worst..its totally irritating..

    These married chicks are in my town here...my jaw drops when I see them behave like that... but they act like they ought to behave like that...
    Nevermind the fact that they are happy to have --- 5 times a day...

    oh i feel little bad for khanak her dadi is very mean hope she understands the importance of khanak one day bhale der hi sahi
    hahaaaa uska husband bachon ki tarah rutha hai and agreed to eat veggie in the absence of her aww jab woh rahti hai tab toh nahi khata poor i think just to feel her he is doing this he is missing her alot hai na?
    amogh is chooooooooooooooo sweet and cute 'kee' omg i want to pull his cheeks and take him in my arms :)
    omg blue lines ne toh meri jaan leli but uske liye time hai i think but ofcourse ye jarur pura hoga hehheheheeheeeee

    Awesome!!! Dadi is upset with Khanak just like her grandson.. :( so she was trying to say that she is leaving for Ahmadabad all along..hmmm..

    Sunil is back..he too is such an amazing person..always supports Khanak..:)

    Loved how you included the wall clock and how Dadi said Amogh jumps up and looking for her whenever the door bell rings..superb!!!

    So Sunil classes are over!!! even for a moment I thought she is pregnant then after reading your comment and again reading the update noticed that she was "fantasizing"..LOL:D

    Even after having a child he'll be as busy as ever in work..and its a big responsibility..he is rightly not ready now..as his focus is on work and wife..LOL:D

    He is more possessive abt his wife now after the separation so its a distant dream for the time being for her..

    Looking forward and thanks for writing wonderful back to back updates..:)

    Amogh is missing his kaki awww!!!!!!!!!!
    the way khanak talk to sunil is awesome i love their bonding sunil knows his brat and he took khanak side always i loved it :D
    sunil asked for his wish to become dadu he wanted a sweet baby girl of his brat just like khanak
    and she thought if her cyle she missed it
    i was very happy and thought yes now shaan will become a dad but no she's not pregnant koi baat nahi next tine ;)
    omgeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! shaan is angry and he ate veg lolzzzzzzzzzz he missed her a lot
    i want him to follow her but that mushkil for him
    he's like her both burthal n ziddi

    I loved it how Dadi mentioned, your hubby is moping in the rec room! :P Lol!
    Ghoosshh..! I SO want to know HOW he's feeling right now! His thoughts! :D For people, the most scariest thing about distance is that you dont know whether they'll miss you..or forget you! *Sigh*

    And for them, its like..the distance..somehow pulls them closer!Sometimes the things that are felt the most are expressed between two souls over the distance and over time...where no words abide.

    I Love Sunil! He is such an awesome person! Casa would always be incomplete without him! :')

    And about a kid, Honestly..I dont think..its a good idea to have one at this point of time! Its nearly UNIMAGINABLE! :P

    Ab kaun pehle haath badayega! ;) I wish Khanak would call him! :D

    Next update kab hain??

      ^^ yeah! Mutual feelings about having a child in this phase of their relationship...its too early! Plus I think they might go over a rough phase before both agreeing!

      Ha! I too want to know what is happening to the guy NOW! I wanna know what he has in mind and the next step...cant wait :D

    Ermmm...the cat and mouse game begins! If it drags on I wont be surprised he will come and drag her back. Sigh! I think somehow deep down he has the fear of losing her especially after the separation...as he said once 'it will keep us together'!
    Simply adore Sunil...he has no air what so ever! He seems very grounded considering the flow of wealth.

    P.S. Can we have a little jhalak of what is going on with the men itself? Please :)

    i think this is the first time dadi is upset with her
    i loved the line where she mentioned that he is moping in the recreation room... he deserves it
    its always her who has to give in... she do wat she feels like but at the end she given in to his demands
    it shows that shaan is now more afraid of losing her after the separation phase
    awww amogh is missing his kaki
    i was missing ritu... loved the part where she said hand the baby over to me coz of the obvious reasons
    sunil and khanak conv was very shweet... shudh hindi ho gai
    and all veggie... shaan will survive... em impressed
    as far as she missed her cycle i was grinning then i realized shaan is not ready yet but once he even aksed ne ke "kab chahiye" and may be this is not the right time
    there shd be mutual feeling but em lukin fwd to wht u've stored

    Dadi is a bridge between the two and Sunil is such a loving FIL!! Amogh is so cute!! always love reading about them!!

    Aur yeh jo Shaan aur Khanak hain, apne saath mujhe bhi paagal kar denge!! when Khanak was with him, he was ignoring her and now when she is gone, he is "udaas" and eating vegetarian and iam sure craving for her!! can't wait for the next one!!
