Around midnite…
Khanak’s cards were hidden under a scarf as her left hand
was unusable, Pradyun offered to help her with the Poker hands….she declined….
Ritu was winning, she had 3 stacks of Rs.1000 chips…. Since Kritik
insisted they play with real money Khanak was screwed…. She was down Rs.3400
already L
There was a couple guys and a dating couple also,so the
stakes were bigger….
Shaan was not paying much attention to the game, his
thoughts wandered between his phone and Prad’s eyes… Pradyun sat across from
Khanak on the dhurrie….
Shaan sat by her criss cross his knee pressing down on hers………
“Tchh” she would protest… as he would reach to refill his SOR….
He would just look at her and turn away…
R:Apna phone band karo Gujral
Guy1:His wife is by him who is texting him?
Khanak: Oh! I am just the mistress…
Guy2 (startled) Umm… oh!...Oh!
Kritik laughed
Shaan gulped… demanding a “show”…. And he won…
R:Or……. Just text on your phone…. Scumbag! (sulking at Shaan
for wiping her out this game)
Khanak emptied her bowl of chocolate mousse, turning the cup
upside down and waiting for the last drop to trickle on to her tongue…….
R:Aur laaoon?
K:Ummm…mmm (sighs)
Pradyun’s sat almost untouched…. He didn’t dare offer her
his…. Khanak stared at her husband’s half finished bowl…
S:Its yours! (softly)
K:Nahi! (looking at him)
R:Tum dono apni romance ko hold par dalogey?
Kritik:Saawan is the dealer now?
Ritu: Nahi MYSTERY!
K:Ughhh… I don’t know much…
Ritu:Haan bhai strip poker se thoda alag hai
The dating couple laughed…. The guy “Practice, practice
practice!”
Khanak sneered at the guy…
Shaan chuckled
Pradyun shifted uncomfortably
Kritik: That’s our cue hun! To go away on a boat and play
all day
Ritu: PLAY ALL DAY?
Khanak:I… I am going to go brush my teeth (jumping out of
her skin, her face crimson)
R:Mystery!
The couple looked up at her “You cant be shy” the girl
commented
R:She IS… she will run… arey who BAAT nahi karti… I mean discussing
s--- life?
She WONT… with strangers? She will die…
Shaan looked at his wife’s departing form…
A small smiled formed in the corner of his lips
Kritik:Chal main dealer!
Shaan’s phone rang… he stood up and walked into the room he
shared with his wife and shut the door
Something told Ritu she wont see her friend until morning….
